The full side conversion pictured here is finished in puntinella (grey speckle) with silver edging trim and a silver / grey vinyl flooring in grade 10 non slip.

The conversion starts by removing all trim panels and flooring from the rear of the van. Before we lay the floor, we sweep out and clean, then insulate the floor, 15mm ply floor to give stability followed by non slip vinyl of your choice. The vinyl is wrapped up the sides to give a neat finish when the side panels are replaced. Wiring is run behind the units and the van sides are insulated with thermawrap (equivalent to 2 inches of polystyrene). Gas vents are drilled and waste pipes routed through the van floor. Seat belt post is installed and electric blind switches relocated if fitted. This is before we even fit the units.

 

The unit far left is a 39lt compressor fridge and is usually fitted with a colour coded front panel.

The next unit is capable of holding the water container and a thetford portapotti, below you can see the air-conditioning controls which retain full functionality due to ducting contained beneath the fridge.

 

The overhead lockers are only over the sink as gas installation regs do not permit it over the stove.

 The unit just over the edge of the seat is the gas locker - it remains accessible at all times for turning off the gas for safety purposes.

 

The seat frame is extremely well built by an engineering firm who build for many major motorhome manufacturers. It is powder coated and slides out to form a bed in under 2 seconds on full extension roller bearing runners. It also locks positively back into place - again in under 2 seconds. A heavy duty seatbelt post is contained within the rear unit and goes from floor to ceiling to allow the fitment of 2 rear 3 point seat belts.

 

The worktop has enough space for a kettle etc next to the twin flush fitting socket.

 

A unique feature of our full side conversion is the silver tambour door which glides upwards into a concealed slot to provide 3 deep shelves which have annodised aluminium bars to prevent items falling off or jamming against the door.

 

The rear seats are upholstered to match the bongos normal trim, but if  required we can get the entire vehicle retrimmed in a fabric of your choice.

 

This Bongo has been retrimmed in blue check fabric and has our new folding jump seat to allow a 3rd person to sit opposite the table (not pictured).

The new Smev combi units shown fitted here as an option to the normal dometic/cramer units fitted.

Instead of a portapotti, this cupboard has been adapted to house a shelf with 2 silver baskets - the space at the side is where the fresh water container lives.

At night the bongo is well lit with the standard flurescent light plus 2 brushed stainless spotlights.

More storage is available under the bed (for all you outdoor items) and the narrow cupboard gives additional storage alongside the wheelarch.

 

The Power Management System controls the 240v electrics and includes a battery charger capable of charging either the vehicle battery or leisure battery. Our system inludes a heavy duty leisure battery with geniune mazda battery tray. A 100 amp voltage sensing split charge relay and well laid out fuse panel takes care of all your additional electrics. You will also have a detailed instruction leaflet guiding you on aspects of the conversion.
