Specializing in Quality Bongo conversions.
Home      About Us

Hi, I am Edward (Ed) and have been converting Mazda Bongos into campervans since 2003. I am 40 years old and had converted many of my own campervans since I was in college studying to be a chartered surveyor.
Having a campervan has always been useful for my outdoor pursuits that have ranged from windsurfing, mountainbiking, kayaking, fishing and powerkiting. So having something bigger than a family hatchback with the versatility of a day at the beach, swallowing a load of outdoor gear, and a few nights away has always appealed to me.

Being bored with my surveying career and also pursuing a side line in Japanese imported car sales gave my first experience with the Mazda Bongo, A versatile 8 seater people carrier that for some bizarre reason had a bed in the electrically elevating roof which became useable at the push of a button.
I bought one and it wasnt long before I had worked out a way of incorporating a removeable kitchen unit for the rear.

One thing lead to another and before I knew it I had around 3 different layouts designed and was busy making them to order in a worshop at my the side of my house.
Several traders who specialized in Mazda Bongo sales contacted me in the first couple of years and I began to specialize in trade conversions, with Japtec (now known better within bongo circles as their Bongo specialist parts supply company - Bongobits), being one of my main customers dealing with sales in the Southwest and further afield.

I gave up my day job and moved into a new workshop a mile away and have continued to develop my conversions still specializing in only the Mazda Bongo.

I would say (and so would my wife - through gritted teeth) that I am a perfectionist. It probably doesnt help me much, but I am sure my customers benefit.
I wont have any corners cut in making our conversions, whether its just on a table, or a small rear kitchen - right through to the full side conversion.
I have attended many motorhome shows over the years been dismayed at the quality of some so called professional conversions - my aim is to never have anyone complain that my work is substandard. As such I try to go the extra mile and put in features that you would not expect to get on a price comparison basis.
All our designs are our own, and have been the result of sitting in a bongo for days even weeks with cardboard templates getting a design to fit properly and be the best it can be. Each of our designs have been changed at some stage in their development where it was obvious an improvement could be made. The one thing we have never done is taken someone elses design and just copied it - unfortunately its been done to us, but we just take it as a compliment that our designs are worth copying.

Please feel free to visit our workshops and view one of our demo vans or one that may be for sale. We have no fancy showroom, or high pressure salesmen, but will gladly spend time talking bongos with you.
If you buy something from us great!..... if you dont - it will probably have been nice chatting to you, we may even make you a cup of tea.
Living a mile away, visits at odd hours can usually be accommodated, but please phone in advance.
